In conjunction with Environmental Campaign month, SCC organised this event as part of our efforts to educate the community in nature conservation. Thus, we invited 20 students from Singapore School for the Deaf for a tour of Semakau Island which is Singapore's only landfill for disposal of non-incinerable refuse such as construction & renovation debris & ash from incineration plants.
We Paired up 1 volunteer to 1 student and went for lunch at McDonald’s and the volunteers distributed gift pack to them before setting off to the ferry terminal for a ride to Semakau Landfill. Everyone attended an educational talk from Landfill management,
